Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

2022 has come to an end and so has my season. A season in which I drove a numerous of different cars in a few different competitions.

The season started off quite early in the year with the 24h of Dubai where I participated with the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup from Speedlover. A new car at a new track is always quite an adventure but we coped with it and found our pace quickly. We finished the race in P5 after a big loss of time during a pitstop. Maybe not the result we wanted but the pace felt strong and still a promising start to the season.

My second race of the season was one of the VW Fun Cup with DRM Motorsport at Zandvoort. With the second race weekend of the season so came the first pole position of the year. An incident halfway through the race meant we got some damage and the car was getting hard to drive. We still managed to get a strong P4. I did 2 other races with DRM at the VW Fun Cup where I proved to be quick and successful. The 25 hours didn’t go as planned after I was taking out at the top of Eau Rouge. After a break from the VW FunCup to focus myself more on the Supercar Challenge and the Belcar Series I decided to join the last race of the Fun Cup season at Zolder. And we managed to win this one after a tense 8 hours.

My first Supercar Challenge race of the season with the Norma M20 FC of T2 Racing came at the Hockenheimring where we won both races. During the other races at Zolder and Spa I felt very good and quick in the car and managed to fight for the win on all occasions. I didn’t do a full season, but my statistics of the season were still great. Having only participated in 6 races, I managed to win 3 of them and stood on the podium 5 times. And managed to become vice-champion of the CN class together with my teammate.

Halfway through the season I started racing for Totaalplan Racing in the Belcar. In my first race at Magny-Cours we were able to get off on the right foot immediately with a stunning performance and a win. Our season had its ups and downs, but we were always fighting for the win. The only times we couldn’t fight for the win was when, failures occurred and meant we were out of the race. Despite the bad luck we had at times the pace was still quick and I can confidently call this a success. Having competed in 5 races we managed to get 4 pole positions, 2 race wins and 3 podiums.

To round the season off we decided to test the Duqueine LMP3 of T2 Racing again but under the little bit more sunny skies of Barcelona. A new and tricky track but amazing to drive with an LMP3 car. Despite the limited track time and knowledge, I quickly found my pace and was able to drive good and consistent laptimes. An amazing way to end the season.

This season will be one to remember. A season in which I experienced everything you can as motorsport driver. A year in which I progressed majorly while there is still a margin for improvement and development. And these possibilities will be used to furthermore improve myself. Having participated in 15 races, managed to win 6 and stood on the podium 9 times
I especially want to thank my father for all the effort he puts in making my dream coming true. Also a big thank you to my sponsors and everyone else that has made the last year possible. Without you I wouldn’t be able to achieve what I have done in the past year. I thank you for your continuous support that I have felt throughout the season on and off the track.

While the past year has been a great one, we don’t want to settle, we want to improve even more to make 2023 even better. 2023 will be exciting and we will keep everyone updated on everything we will be doing next year.
A happy new year to everyone and we hope to see everyone next year.
